Well, yes I am one of the members of the team that modded a year ago one regular Voodoo4 4500AGP from 32Mb to 64Mb. After the initial first confirmed success, there is nothing special about adding extra-memory modules to a V4 AGP PCB. The mod has been performed repeated times again to other cards of the same model, allmost allways with no problems so it is something like a usual rework. I for one cannot even say that mine was the first working mod, because there was in the past another guy, called DenisF, that claimed years agothat he had performed this rework on a Voodoo4, allthough it was never confirmed, nor has he offered any datas to allow confirmation from the community...
See here for a simmilar topic on other forum, where you can see that Mikulaish had performed adding miss-matched memory modules to a Voodoo4 AGP, with flawless results:
http://www.falconfly-central.de/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=general;action=display;num=1145604124;start=60#60
...and see here following research for modding to 64Mb SDRAM per VSA100 for other Voodoo4/5 3DFX cards:
http://www.falconfly-central.de/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=techtalk;action=display;num=1169273701
Anyway, the community does not realy care any more about adding more RAM to 3DFX cards; the best example is right here on tis very site: you see, even "3dfxzone.it Desktop Wallpaper" has made to "3dfx Headlines" selection, but not the modding to 64Mb RAM for a VSA100...
https://www.3dfxzone.it/dir/first_looks_archive/
So, considering the whole lack of interest from the owner and fans of the 3DFX products, the project for further research and study in this direction, Voodoo5 5500 with 128Mb RAM also included, is continuing at low speed. We are still into it and we have come close to our first Voodoo5 "more RAM"-mod, and when will we be doing it you will hear about it, allthough I don't know if we will announce the progress on this forum too...

We are kind of geting off-topic here, but let it be this time...
Well, 3dfxzone is biased towards 3DFX related software and gaming; it is the best forum when it comes to new drivers releases and 3dfx troubleshooting, but it does not care so much about hardware, technical issues and modding. If I were to release a new 3DFX driver, or patch, etc. this forum would be the right place for it, and the best one too!
I will put a small update very soon regarding some aspects of the progress in modding other VSA100 powered 3DFX card into my old topic here:
http://www.3dfxzone.it/enboard/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3653
Anyway, SKINNIE, I need to talk to you, so please send me a e-mail at my adress: Komponent@gmail.com
Please excuse me for off-topic, I will do my best not to let it happen again...

And SO the right Forum for setup and tweaking Voodoo4/5 hardware IS??????? tweaking and setup does NOT imply only SOFTWARE.  Whoever you are "big poster" (17 posts) KOMPONENT, I don't think you quite understand how IMPORTANT this exact forum is to the 3DFX community.....  there is nothing else like it on the web IN ENGLISH or any other language as I know it.....  "OFF TOPIC" is when peeps talk about cards that are NOT 3DFX on this board.  we are ALL extremely interested in tweaking our HARDWARE as well as our DRIVERS on this forum.....  In fact, I think it is high time the moderators start a "voodoo hardware" forum topic area!  please continue with your HARDWARE questions ZOURUI..... now back to you.

Is modding V5 5500 from 64M to 128M technically more difficult than V4 4500 from 32M to 64M?
Well, a V4-4500 AGP already has empty slots for more Ram, so you "just" have to solder the ram modules.
A V5 does not have empty slots, so you have to find suitable ram chips with double capacity than the original AND you have to solder a connection from every VSA100 to the memory. Aside that a Bios mod is necessary.
