hi guys..i'm trying to overclock my mmx200 (the 3.5x multiplyer is unlocked) but i'm not getting anywhere I don't know why..first of all..I have 2 motherboards..a soyo 5bt (intel 430tx chipset ) that can achieve 75mhz bus and another with a ali tx pro 2 chipset that can achieve 83mhz bus) and with both boards when I swith the bus to more than 66mhz the windows crashes..even if ia mworking @180..
i have an at power supply (both boards suportt atx too)
64+64mb pc133
samsung spinpoint
dfe 430tx pci (network card)
ali pci 6 usb card
ati graphics pro turbo 2mb (mach64vt)
stb voodoo 2 12mb
win98se

can you teel wht is the "bottleneck" in this overclock?it crashes when the windows is starting..i tried putting lower memory timings but it is the same thing..
what motherboard is more suitable for my system and for my v2?

[:0]OMG it is highly possible that it could be because at psu's do not put out the needed power to runn anything over about ehh 237MHz and pluss the p MMX233 really isint a cpu to be overclocking they burn really really easly[xx(] your best bet tho if you really really want to try and over clock it is to buy a atx formfactor psu they can put out more i have used at psu to overclock once and when the computer got over 240MHz it crashed i fixed the problem with a atx sso it might help *ive been threw about 6 computers now and each of them had thir own mind when it came to the cpu overclocking* juss play with it.[8D]

I made a mistake..my new motherboard doesn't have atx connector :( and I think it is better than the soyo 5bt..because of the chipset..because it caches more memory...maybe I'll let the cpu @200mhz...I know these cpus are very overclockable..one = to mine reached 350mhz with watercooling!!!mine is the one unlocked @3.5x
