quake2 3dfxgl.dll

is there away to get my voodoo4 working properly with the minigl drivers in windows xp? it worksfine in default open gl but i need it to workin 3dfx opengl...i added in the 1.47 mingl driver for q2 3dfxgl.dll is there an update for xp or something?

there is no real need to use minigl with a voodoo4-minigl was meant for voodoo1 and voodoo2 (card which did not have a full opengl icd at that time).it should be possible to get the latest minigl working,but there are no benefits in doing this.

anyway,if you really want to try it out,get the latest minigl from falconfly's archive: http://www.falconfly.de/minigl.htm and extract the dll from the archive.now,there should be a 3dfx-something dll file in the quake2 folder (3dfxgl.dll,if I remember correctly),copy the filename and delete it (renaming it or moving away works too).now copy the minigl to the quake2 folder,and rename it to 3dfxgl.dll (or whatever the original name was).run quake2,select 3dfx opengl,and the game should start using the minigl.
