As this is an important forum where 3DFX fans meet, it is only fair I should update the status of my 3DFX modding projects here too:
Long story short, I will link next the orriginal topics of the mods allready performed:

Voodoo4 AGP 64Mb:

The group-buy of 16Mb chips for VSA100 based cards:
(Contains some nice infos)

Voodoo5 AGP 128Mb:
http://www.falconfly.de/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1223002040

Voodoo4 PCI 64Mb:

Voodoo4 AGP 128Mb:
http://www.falconfly.de/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1232877537

As for my next projects, it will probably be a Voodoo5 PCI with 128Mb first (if someone were to let me modd one such card of his own, as I cannot afford to buy it). Next, I lack no new ideeas. It is free time I do not have. Realy tough on spare time to work on my 3DFX hobby these days... As a taste of what might be, I am sure I could do a Voodoo2 with 20Mb RAM, an AGP-to-PCI addapter and I might try to make other mods like Voodoo3 with 32Mb, Voodoo5 AGP 4x compatible and so on...
Could be a nice thing if you, the 3DFX fans, were to suggest here what should be the next project and I will see what and when I can do to help.

Wow, you've done a great job. Can the wires that you have glued on the ram chips be free so heat sinks can be placed on the chips? There glued on just to hold wire in place yes?
you live on your knees im gonna die on my feet.

Not sure anyone here cares about it, but I'll keep this thread updated.

Hi all!

- Komponent:

Compliments.

Did you find some stability issues with your Voodoo5 @ 128MB?

And also, which performance improvement are you measuring with that "prototype"?

Thank you!

Bye bye

@Glide: Voodoo5 128Mb about 15 percent better performance in benchmarks and is able to start games that won't run on the original 64Mb card. With the AGP there is the issue of compatible motherboards. Under Windows 9x the card has no problems, but Under 2k/XP/2003 it will not go to desktop on some motherboards. The PCI variant has no such problem.
On the other hand, the Voodoo4 AGP 128Mb will not run correctly under Win 9x but works just fine with 2k/XP.
@Nightbird: Can't do the Voodoo3 yet as I have no money available to buy the cards, so unless I receive a donation (2xVoodoo3 PCI SGRAM is what I need) it will take some time. I think I found the loophole to perform the mod to 32Mb, but until someone tries it, will never know...

Why a Voodoo3 PCI ? they are expensive and not easy to find
It's easier to find some Voodoo3 Agp ?

Worth mentioning for those wanting to use AGP 3.3V 3dfx cards on modern systems: ECS's AGP Express and Biostar's XGP tested compatible (they are in fact integrated AGP2PCI-like adapters:

Could be a matter of bios settings?
Could you list which motherboards have problems with the modded Voodoo5 under 2k/XP?
