Voodoo 5500 AGP problems!

Hello to everybody, I would to introduce myself. My name is Nick and I'm a big fan of 3Dfx. So I finally got a Voodoo 5500 AGP for my Retro PC. The motherboard is a Slot 1 one with support for AGP 2x so it's definitely ok for the card.
Now the problem is that the card won't work. Simply put, if I connect the needed power cable, it refuses to power up at all. I see some slight movement in the fans of both the card and the cpu, but it just stops. If I remove the cable though it powers up but of course it doesn't post.

I tried 3 more motherboards and a couple of extra PSU's and it still produces the same problem. I tried disconnecting every other extra device and it still stays like that. I emailed the seller and he told me it worked fine last time he checked, and that nevertheless he would give me a refund. Thing is, on the back of the card and on the far right, where the vga out is located, "DEFECT!" is written with a green marker. This makes things even weirder!

What do you think is going on?
Got any suggestions of what might be wrong?

Sure mate. I took 3 pictures of the whole card, but they're a bit low res, excuse me for that they were taken with my cellphone.

Oopsss!

Check them out now.
Thought that embedding the thumbnails would allow you to see the bigger ones.

looks like someone wrote on it with a sharpie marker
I'd return the card and get a refund for it

The seller told me he doesn't need me to return it and he'll give me a refund on it so that's why I'm trying to find a way to fix the problem. Any suggestions?

seeing that the card dose not work you could try baking the card
this may fix it

Maybe the card won´t post because of a bad bios flash.

Scroll down to the post of HankSemenec and do as he suggested.
Be sure to boot the pc with a non-3dfx primary graphics card.

Thing is the computer doesn't power up at all if I connect the required connector. If I remove it it just doesn't post and no beeps are coming from the speaker.

Looks like a dead card then, sorry.
