Hi people!
I am new in LinuX and in this forum too :) ,but I have found some vsa100 linux drivers its seems like lastest official for this O.S. But I still don't understand how to install it in my Mandrake 10 ,I have the followind modules loaded : tdfx ,agpgart , via_agp (these most be the unique important in that case) .i also have this lines in my xf86config-4 :
Load "dri"
Load "glx"
Load "dbe"
(the important ones) . My xfree86.o.log referring to voodoo sayd :
(--) PCI:*(1:0:0) 3Dfx Interactive, Inc. Voodoo 4 / Voodoo 5 rev 1
and more...
(II) LoadModule: "tdfx"
(II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/tdfx_drv.o
(II) Module tdfx: vendor="The XFree86 Project"
   compiled for 4.3.0.1, module version = 1.0.0
   Module class: XFree86 Video Driver
ABI class: XFree86 Video Driver, version 0.6
This one I just don't understand ...it referring to PCI?
(WW) TDFX: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:1:0:1) found
(II) TDFX(0): TDFXFindChips: found 2 chip(s)
great...
(II) TDFX(0): TDFXInitChips: numchips = 1
That one seem to be a driver problem ...
(II) TDFX(0): [drm] installed DRM signal handler
(II) TDFX(0): [DRI] installation complete
(==) TDFX(0): Direct rendering enabled
What a hell is DPMS?
(**) Option "dpms"
(**) TDFX(0): DPMS enabled
That`s all ,but I still have NO DIRECT RENDERING message in
Glxinfo.
My system is: Coppermine 1.0Ghz@1.2Ghz 256Mb Pc133Mhz@Pc140Mhz VooDoo 5 5500 AGP.
Please help me get Quake III working in LinuX that's all I need to completely migrate to this wonderfull system, thank you for helping:)
