open gl mode use "wow.exe -opengl" mesa 6.2 drivers in wow folder. and i used amigamerlin drivers dont know if thats significant but still. only 256 mb ram and 1.7 ghz running with 14fps some minor bugs but realy playable. actionbar misses textures and the minimap can flicker some. but just close the minimap and thats solved.
im running in windows 98 so patching wow to 2.4.2 is quite hard but just rename the patch files to .mpq and use the installer file from the latest wow tbc patch u can use in win98. you can find the installer files in the temp folder wile patching. and you will need kex drivers as well its a kernel32 patch. so you add some xp compability to win98.
try mesafx software rescaling to fix the action bar:
Create a *.txt file (run.txt for example) in the game folder, and put in following:
set MESA_FX_MAXLOD=10
wow.exe
Save changes and exit notepad, rename the *.txt file to run.bat, and launch the game via run.bat
that may help.oh,and btw,no need to post this in every subforum available..
thx , tryed it and it worked, but the game crashed when i playd it the first 2 min. maybe its my lac of RAM. only tryid it fast will try later on tomorow. sorry for my poor eng its not my main lang.
It works now.
Hi voodoo3user999,
do you make some changes in order to get WOW working?
Bye bye
nope i did not all i have done is posted on this forum, simple using mesa drivers was enuf. and starting the game in opengl mode.
A found a fix for the invisible or dissorted actionbar textures, edit config.wtf and add (SET UIfaster "2") with out the (). then you downt need to use the software rescaling, and it gives better result. after that all actionbar and in "bag" textures will work.
noticed some instances make the game crash back to windows after the latest setting But i found a new fix (Use Boath my settings and the game will run at its best.)
