Post by: Wov4ine on 11 February 2004, 10:29:12
Hello,
I fired up my Diamond Monster Voodoo2 last night after finding this site.I thought all was dead years ago for 3DFX and Glide.I have quite
a few Glide games I would like play {Wing Commander Prophecy}..Anyhow
while messing with Unreal, the graphics are somewhat blocky. My screen
resolution will not exceed 640x480.I can slide it to 800x600 but it
falls back to a lower setting.Specs as follows: Athlon 2700 on Abit
NF7s motherboard.Win XP with 512 ram,Sony 19 in. monitor,ATI radeon
9700 pro Video card.Im using  Fastvoodo2 xp 4.0 gold.Sorry for the
long post,im new at this.Thank You

Hi Wov4ine, welcome at this board :).

We ship FastVoodoo2 series adding to driver core files two docs: just one readme and one Release Notes. By Release Notes we want give first helping to users about common topics. In this doc you can read also about refresh frequency and or resolution set-up...

Shortly, we say resolution slider does not run properly so you must go in Tool/Refresh frequency subfolder of FastVoodoo2 4.0 XP GE. Now you get some reg files: just choose refesh frequency matching monitor specifications for any resolutions (manual setup...).

Let me know if you solved and i'm here for all.

Helo,
Thanks for your help.I did get the refresh rate up to 75 or 85 Hz?
Its when I move the slider for screen size resolution.640x480
is all it will let me do.800x600 is the only other size available
but when I move the slider right and ok it then check back,it is
reset at 640x480.It will not hold past that.Any ideas?
Thank You
