Title: Problem With 3dmark99
Post by: perer on 15 September 2003, 20:19:16
I have a problem with my WD200JB harddrive when I copy large files it works then it hangs for 0.5 of a second and then it runs for 5 seconds and hangs again. When I run 3Dmark99 MAXX game 2 (firstperson). When I run it is don't run fluid it kind of hangs for a bit. My framrate is extremely low if you look at the scores of a normal voodoo2 sli with a 533mhz celeron. O'cd fro 400 mhz don't go yelling me that i can find the answer in the fact that the celeron is O'cd.
The scores with my computer are 43fps with game to and a lot of peaple with normal cpu's not O'cd get  70+fps easy.
Does somebodt know what  is the reason that my (probably harddisk does this).
My PC specs are:
Duron 1000mhz at 200mhz bus
Aopen AK73A-(V)
128mb ram 133mhz
TNT2 M64 32mb
2 Voodoo2's in sli @100mhz note that score above is with 100mhz
WD200JB harddisk

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi perer,

this problem could be caused by hd size. The true issue is not the low fps but that "it works then it hangs for 0.5 of a second and then it runs for 5 seconds and hangs again".
You must flash the latest final version of bios for your motherboard. Then read this page: http://wdc.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wdc.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=533&p_created=1031763968. Finally Western Digital Data Lifeguard v10.0 (http://support.wdc.com/download/dlg/dlginstall_10_0.exe) will help you in drive configuration.

Bye bye

I am sorry to say that I put 3DMARK on my 3.4gb harddrive.
So we can't lay the problem on the size of the harddrive.

would be interesting if you can explain since "when", you have "the problem" ;)
