i cant install 3dfx patch for carmageddon it says cant find voodoo driver. i have voodoo2 sli mix match cards with voodoo 2 farst 4.6 driver installed win98se. will carmageddon splat pack 3dfx work on voodoo 2 cards pls help
Sorry I can't help, but I'm also having trouble with Carmageddon 1 and V5500.
The menu mouse becomes very slow, there's no sound, and I don't think I can even get to the game itself. Regular Carma exe works just fine :( Was really looking forward to playing Carma 1 with Glide
By the way, are you running official drivers? Never heard of farst. Get the official drives, that's probably why it won't work. Most likely it's trying to detect the 3dfx drivers and can't find them, so it reports you don't have the cards
Don't know about mismatched voodoo2 sli cards, but there is a patch available to voodoo2 owners (also works for voodoo5), google voodoo2c.exe or voodoo2s.exe. If it can't find your voodoo drivers, reinstall them and make sure there are no voodoo drivers in your carmageddon directory. Also, go to your voodoo 2 display properties in windows, and check the dosglide driver. If it displays a version number it should work.
The following information will NOT work for the voodoo2, you won't need to disable emm386.exe for a voodoo2, the SET line is also useless for the voodoo2.

Running Carmageddon 1 fine with my Voodoo5 5500 AGP.
Try this:
In your config.sys REM out emm386.exe (this also works for the voodoo3). Keep in mind that your DOS high memory will no longer work so you'll have to make sure you have enough conventional memory (or just play in Windows). Dos is better though.
Next, type this at the DOS command prompt (or at the Windows dos prompt);
SET SSTH3_SLI_AA_CONFIGURATION=0
This disables the Voodoo5's SLI and AA capability, allowing you to run DOS games. Reboot your computer to turn SLI and AA back on.
