Hello everyone,...
I recently got gothic II and it is playable ..for ten minutes or so :) then it freezes everything with weird artifacts all over the place..any suggestions ? It is certainly not due to the temperature of the VSA-100 :)
I have the following config:
Athlon XP 2000+
Voodoo 3 3000 - Amigamerlin 3.0
SBLive Platinum
XP PRO SP1
Dirext 9.0b
I always want more..is that so bad?
VSA-100 is only the Voodoo4/5 family board.
For a Voodoo3 board you must use the AmigaSport 3.0 drivers kit.
The DirectX section of Amigamerlin 3.0 run only with the VSA-100 based board, like Voodoo4 4500, Voodoo5 5500 and Voodoo5 6000
I see that you have installed the DirectX 9.0b, remove it and re-install the DirectX 8.1, it is the right chose for your Voodoo3 3000
Bye bye
thnx for the advice
Hmm you were right.. I installed AmigaSport 3.0 and it is still doing the same though..
Problems occur immediately with DirectDraw operations such as unsupported mode..oh..and the game is still freezing :) i lowered everything down in terms of texture and model detail and all the extras..hmm i also tried the drivers from 3dhq 1.09 beta 10 but still no luck..
BTW do you know any drivers that support dirext 9.0 ?

Unfortunately I do not know Ghotic2.
I can say to you that you do not need of DirectX 9 on a Voodoo3 why they do not carry advantages and do not exist games that demand DirectX 9 and that they work on Voodoo3
The DirectX 9 games demand 64Mbytes of video memory and the Voodoo3 has only 16 Mbytes
DirectX 9 creates some problem with some games therefore is better if lathes to DirectX 8.1
I think I found what the problem is,,the company said that despite the fact that 16mb cards are supported 3dfx ones are not.. so I guess I have to start saving for a FX 5900 :) hehe thnx anyway
