i have a voodoo5 5500 pci and im running windows 2000. for some reason, everytime i install a driver for the v5, i never get the 3dfx tools. When i right click desktop, settings tab, advanced button, i don't see a separate tab for voodoo. I tried installing all the drivers for 200o including dozer, amigamerlin, and most of the other ones from voodoofiles.com. can somebody please tell me why i can't get to the 3dfx tools. i need that in order for my vid card to run at full potential.
Have you tried to install the drivers in compatibility mode?
(I believe Win2000 had that feature just like WinXP?)
try a compleet uninstall: first uninstall all the software that is 3dfx related, then uninstall the voodoo card in the hardware properties. then delete all files with 3dfx in it, and glide3x.dll, glide2x.dll, opengl32.dll files as well. then do a start --> run --> "regedit" and delete all keys with 3dfx in it.
now download a good driver set (like amigamerlin 3.0) and install it. it should then ask if you like to install the control panel as well....
