How to play ET with Punkbuster enabled:

Rename the MesaFX opengl32.dll to 3dfxvgl.dll and move it to your windows/system (or system32 under Win2000/XP) folder along with the correct MesaFX glide3x.dll file (overwrite old files if needed). Make sure no MesaFX files are in your ET folder. Create a shortcut to ET.exe, rightclick on it, select properties, and add +set r_gldriver 3dfxvgl command to the target box (example: "C:\Games\Wolf-ET\ET.exe" +set r_gldriver 3dfxvgl).This will make sure ET loads MesaFX every time.
I advice you to use wickedgl though (the steps are the same, just use the wickedgl opengl32.dll,it can be found in your metabyte/wickedgl folder),you will get much better performance (if you have a voodoo4/5 card.just dont forget to enable "compress all" in the wickedgl control panel).

I will probably edit the game guide and recommend wickedgl instead of mesafx unless I find out how to get acceptable framerates out of it.

It does: http://www.voodooalert.de/de/images/stories/artikel/v5/et_1024_32_0x.jpg (Taken from the comparison here: http://www.voodooalert.de/de/content/view/164/25/)

But not 100% correctly. There's a kind of "fog" on grass on some maps ... but that's ok if you look at the performance. :)
