OK simple but stupid question here... The voodoo2 requres a 2d card to be installed at all times correct? so is this required in sli mode as well? thanx
yes it is required in SLI also. a V2 cannot produe its own 2D graphics, it focuses on 3D. I have a question of my own: in SLI, do you use two of the monitor port link cables (linking the two V2s together)?
lol i was wondering that too....
Yes i used the 2 link cables to put my 2 Voodoo 2 12mb cards in sli in my m8's IBM Aptiva the cards were doing nothing so i lent him the cards to get him playing Q3 and it works great...
:D :D

Quotein SLI, do you use two of the monitor port link cables (linking the two V2s together)?
SLI configuration requires one internal cable between two Voodoo2 (step 1) and one external cable between one Voodoo2 and primary card (step 2). In fact, output device is attached to nearer Voodoo2 and signal from primary card goes to this Voodoo2 and then to monitor.

Bye bye
Also, Don't make the mistake of using a crap 2D video card with your Voodoo2's.
Not everything in games is 3D so you need a good, fast 2D card to get the best effect.
