Title: Enemy Territory with Voodoo 3 under Windows XP
Post by: Vanilias Ronk on 14 October 2004, 14:44:04
Hi!
I've got finally a Voodoo 3 3500TV PAL! :)
But I can't play with my favourite game, all text are corrupted.
Can anybody help me?

Vanilias Ronk

Ps.: Newer Amigamerlin driver why are developed only for V4/5? And why is so important V5 6000 support, how many luky men can be happy about having a V5 6000?

Well, we are quite a few :D
I am glad that newer drivers are compatible with my V5-6000.
Anyway, did you download the latest MesaFX ?
Just put the opengl32.dll and glide3x.dll in the directory where you installed Enemy Territory and the game should be fine.

If you want to play ET with Punkbuster enabled, you will have to remove all MesaFX files from your ET folder: Rename the MesaFX opengl32.dll to 3dfxvgl.dll and move it to your windows/system (or system32 under Win2000/XP) folder along with the MesaFX glide3x.dll file.Open the system/system32 folder, find a file named 3dfxOGL.dll and rename it to 3dfxOGL.dllx.Launch the game, the MesaFX driver will be found and the correct path to the file will be saved.Exit the game, and rename the 3dfxOGL.dllx file back to 3dfxOGL.dll. This will make sure ET loads the correct opengl driver every time from now on.
..I do love quoting myself[:p]

Hi!
:D
Thanks ps47! I'll try it.

Ps.: I'm glad that Voodoo 3 3500 is the highest clock speed Voodoo, it can operate at 200 MHz too. ;)

tested a bit more, and this should work even better:

Rename the MesaFX opengl32.dll to 3dfxvgl.dll and move it to your windows/system (or system32 under Win2000/XP) folder along with the correct MesaFX glide3x.dll file (overwrite old files if needed). Make sure no MesaFX files are in your ET folder. Create a shortcut to ET.exe, rightclick on it,and add +set r_gldriver 3dfxvgl command to the target box.
(example: "C:\Games\Wolf-ET\ET.exe" +set r_gldriver 3dfxvgl)..
