Title: Dumb question of the day
Post by: Sir Golitech on 27 October 2004, 00:28:52
Can I have both a PCI and AGP video card hooked up at the same time?

But choose which one to use in the BIOS of course, right?

Forgetfully yours

yes you can hook up both but in bios you only can choose which should initialize first... so in windows both cards will be active, you have to deactivate that one you wont need!

@Sir Golitech,

Correct, bit of a hassle changing your monitor cable and bios setting every time you decide to switch between cards, but it is possible.

Cheers guys.

On a side note, Which do you think would perform better a Voodoo 5 5500 64MB PCI or a NVidia MX400 64MB AGP?

they are very close together but in most newer games that Geforce 2MX performs slightly better. In older games like UT or Quake3 the Voodoo 5 is better...
