The following rework applies to PCB version 210-0391-001-A and 210-0391-001-A3.
3 boards have been modified and stability was improved on 3 motherboards, Tyan S1832D, Iwill KK266+R, Soyo KT333 Dragon Lite.
Two of the modified boards were margined for graphics clock speed operation above 166MHz. Boards ran stable at 186MHz and 191MHz.
Important!! The computer case was opened and well ventilated, 3.3V rail was measured at 3.32V and V5 6000 used stock cooling.
Rework:
1) Install 4.7K resistor – R540, R589, R717, R714
2) Change 22ohm Resistors to 0ohm resistors – R734, R743, R735, R745
This rework changes secondary PCI clock alignment and timing, to improve timing margin. Boards that used to fail within 30 seconds to 2 minutes completed over night runs on Quake 3 and (RWB2.3.2) GVT demo loop at 4xFSAA and 8xFSAA.

I'll deal with overbrightness later, I have made some changes to the card to use full 8 bits per prime and get the RGB within RGB spec.
One way is to add Serial DAC to controll reference to current supply. That would be the best way to provide full RGB swing with full 8 bit resolution.
Hank
how you go on the serial dac hank - would that give better control of gamma levels in games too
whats full RGB swing with full 8 bit resolution.
hank ?
this no repley on thid fix hank, did koolsmokey fix this on the v6k in software or not hank
